Scheme II of BIS regulates the CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme). Manufacturers must obtain a BIS CRS Registration Certificate before releasing electronic devices. Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology oversees the scheme, expanding categories periodically, and enforcing regulations for conformity assessment.
The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology introduced 15 new electronic product categories in 2012, expanding further in 2014, 2016, and 2017, with additional regulations for conformity assessment.
CRS under BIS stands for Compulsory registration Scheme.
The BIS has released an official Gazette Notification which state the requirements under the Compulsory Registration Scheme, which is also known as CRS, along with the particular products, Power Bank, that have been categorized under Scheme II.
The purpose of the BIS CRS Scheme for Power Bank is the implication of mandatory compliance by manufacturers of Power Bank to get their products registered prior to the initiation of any business in the Indian Market.
The BIS CRS Certification for Power Bank ensure that the Power Bank being purchased by the consumer are safe and reliable for utilization, along with providing assurance that the Power Bank are of good quality.
The Construction Data Form, which is also known as CDF, is a form that requires the details of the products to be filled accurately and the Critical Component list which is also known as CCL, is a type of form which requires for the products components information to be filled very briefly and precisely.
The validity of the Test report is of three months or ninety days. Prior to the date of expiration of the test reports, it is requires to be submitted to the BIS.
